ChatGPT now supports Google Drive and OneDrive

OpenAI has expanded data analytics capabilities in ChatGPT using Google Drive and OneDrive. The company said these improvements will make working with datasets easier and give users more interactive tools to work with.

Now files can be uploaded to the chatbot directly from Google Drive and Microsoft OneDrive. ChatGPT will have access to Google services such as Sheets, Documents, Presentations and Microsoft platforms such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint. In addition, an expandable view for tables and charts will be introduced into the chatbot. When users add a dataset, ChatGPT will create an interactive table that can be expanded to full screen. Finally, you can click on specific areas of the table to ask additional questions or select hints.

For example, users will be able to ask ChatGPT to combine multiple spreadsheets containing monthly expenses and create a summary spreadsheet categorized by expense type. The chatbot also offers customizable and interactive charts including bar, line, pie and scatter charts. All of them can be downloaded for use in presentations or documents.

The improvements will be available to ChatGPT Plus, Team and Enterprise users in the coming weeks.

Previously, OpenAI introduced GPT-4o, which is capable of perceiving and generating sound, image and text. The model will be available to all users for free. The company also announced the launch of a ChatGPT desktop application for macOS users. A Windows version is in development and will be available later this year. ChatGPT-4o is live in preview of the Microsoft Azure service.
